Stefan is a RIBA chartered Architect and Founding Director of Stefan Shaw Studio with over 10 years practice experience on local and international projects.
With time spent working alongside Squire and partners, JM Architects and most recently over 8 formative years at Studio Egret West, Stefan has a wide portfolio of experience with projects including among others:
The restoration and second life of Park Hill in Sheffield, the largest listed building in Europe and Runner up of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2016
Project lead of Eastwick and Sweetwater, a new 1,500 home neighbourhood adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London designed to full fabric energy efficiency standards (FEES).
Design lead of the award winning Erith Quarry, a 600 home masterplan including a 3-Form Entry Primary School, community facilities and ecological parkland .
East Croydon Station and masterplan, with detailed design of the £21m footbridge upgrade for the multi modal interchange to increase capacity for the new high density developments to the east and west.
Roach Road, a mixed use residential and gallery project located on the banks of the River Lee Navigation Canal opposite the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and stadium.
In 2018 Stefan decided that alongside starting a new family it was time to embark on a separate voyage of discovery and set up Stefan Shaw studio; a dynamic forward thinking design house where architecture, furnitecture and urban design work hand in hand. Guided by a love of craft and a desire to improve the world we live in project by project the studio was born.
Stefan has since lead the practices involvement in the regeneration of Low Grange, a 1500 home masterplan aimed at capturing the essence of the Cleveland Hills and rooting the residential and education offer within lush environs of a family play spaces, healthy living loop cycle route and ecological park.
The ground up architectural design and branding of the London based boutique high intensity training gym Movement LDN. Award nominated high end residential projects across London and the north, a mixed use commercial led block in Brick Lane and the refurbishment and extension of a traditional Spanish cortijo in the picturesque town of Torre del Rico in the countryside outside of Alicante.
Stefan is also a visiting lecturer in architectural technology,sustainable design and creative thinking at the University of Westminster and thoroughly enjoys spending time out and about exploring with his young family as much as time allows.
