As part of a wider urban renaissance, the ambitious reimagining of a landmark 20th century office building will provide new homes fit for the 21st century, bringing a new vitality to the centre of Milton Keynes.

Located on Silbury Boulevard in the centre of Milton Keynes’ commercial district, proposals at Silbury Court re-clad, substantially refurbish, and extend the existing building.

stripping away years of neglect, the new cladding will dramatically improve the buildings thermal performance while a contemporary, high quality finish enhances the already striking buildings presence on the street. Full height glazing and Juliette balconies allow views over the adjacent park, with perforated metal screens and passive ventilation panels to ensure there is little risk of overheating.

The proposal introduces a stepped one to two storey roof extension providing forty-eight new homes using prefabricated modern methods of construction which will increase efficiency and reduce construction waste. Prior approval was sought under permitted Development Class AA allowing for new flats on detached buildings that are either commercial or mixed.

All new homes will be built to nationally described space standards, and will benefit from modern standards of servicing, including generous cycle facilities, allowing the new residents to enjoy Milton Keynes’ 273km of cycle routes.
